Approaches or Methodologies A theoretical orientation or the lens through which clients are evaluated and appropriate treatments identified. Main examples being Psychoanalytic or Psychodynamic, Humanistic/Experiential, Cognitive/Behavioral, and Systems therapies.
Assessments, Scales, or Measures Psychological tests that when administered by trained evaluators play a key part in diagnosis, hypothesis-testing, and the assessment of a client's status or progress.
Counseling Skills Necessary qualities, techniques, or behaviors that foster a therapeutic relationship between counselor and client and facilitate a positive outcome.
Disorders and Psychosocial Concerns Identified mental health conditions as well as the broader spectrum of environmental stressors that affect a client's functioning in daily life, their relationships, self-concept, and overall well-being.
Exam Preparation and Licensure Resources for licensing exams such as the National Counselors Exam (NCE), the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam (NCMHCE), or the Art Therapy Credentials Board Exam (ATCBE).
